Job Overview

We are actively seeking an Principal AWS Cloud Architect with a DevOps background to join our Cloud Solutions Team. In this position you will play a strategic role in designing our cloud environment from a holistic view, ensuring it meets the company’s needs both current and into the future. You will work alongside a group of passionate engineers in developing services, guard rails, and reusable patterns that further enable product teams to deliver value safely, quickly, and sustainably in the public cloud. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of DevOps processes and techniques, and will be experienced in designing, managing, and transferring applications to the cloud. This is a hands-on role.

 

For this role, you will have the opportunity to…

  • Define a well-formed cloud strategy and manage the adoption process.
  • Translate organizational and project specific needs into a cloud structure that best suits those needs.
  • Carry out deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and management tasks in support of the cloud platform and structure.
  • Lead efforts in cloud automation, delivery, and management across teams.
  • Conduct migrations, where necessary, to bring tools and other elements into the cloud.
  • Pursue a rigorous, disciplined approach to software delivery processes and automation.
  • Lead and mentor other resources as needed to provide solutions.
  • Work across many teams, contributing to technical discussions and design decisions internally.

 

Do you qualify? You must have…

  • 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based services on AWS.
  • Expert understanding of AWS organizations, landing zones, security, governance, networking, and billing.
  • Hands-on experience building out automated delivery pipelines of both internal software projects and cloud services.
  • Experience implementing and working with Terraform IaC tools and techniques.
  • Expertise designing and working with both a serverless and containerized environment. ECS, EKS, and Lambda.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to effectively articulate and present complex concepts to various audiences.

 

Preferences for this role include… 

  • Previous experience in a hospitality software/ technology organization.
