Job Overview

Our Business Analyst will partner with Product Management to create functional and non-functional requirements using various elicitation and facilitation techniques. Once requirements have been collected, produces a Business Requirements Document (BRD) or User Stories (US) that maps the client’s requirements to the particular IDeaS solution. Leads the creation of Test Plans and participates in creating the test cases. Supports the customer during implementations and builds and monitors thereof.


For this role, you will have the opportunity to…

  • Be responsible for the Business Analysis Process including planning, requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, assessment, and validation.
  • Work closely with business subject matter experts, technical leads, solution architects, and other stakeholders to understand, document, and communicate business and functional requirements.
  • Gather requirements using various elicitation and facilitation techniques, and analysis of existing documentation, business processes and procedures.
  • Produce associated deliverables such as Business Requirements Document (BRDs), US, Use Cases, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTMs) and Workflow Diagrams.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities in both As-Is and To-Be states utilizing various tools and techniques such as Brainstorming, SWOT Analysis, Process Flowcharting, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Conduct walkthrough sessions with the client and technical team for verification and validation of requirements and to document any requests for functional changes to the solution.
  • Coordinate sign off on client requirements documents on behalf of IDeaS.
  • Provide guidance and advice to clients to align the technology solution and the business objectives and requirements.
  • Facilitate building of business rules, data definitions, and other business metadata and translates these into technical specifications.
  • Analyze, document, and translate business requirements into functional, design and solution specifications or US.
  • Support creation of test plans, write test cases, and provide guidance in user acceptance testing.
  • Respond to questions from the business and project team resulting from the review of the business requirements during design, development, and testing phases.
  • Participate in Business requirements sessions
  • Contribute in documenting the Business Requirements Document (BRD) or Statement of Work (SoW)
  • Prepare documentation of traceability of requirements to testing plans
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.


Do you qualify? You must have…

  • 3+ years of relevant experience Business Analyst Experience in an agile based software company
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience creating deliverables such as Business Requirements Document (BRDs), User Stories, Use Cases, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTMs), Workflow Diagrams.
  • Demonstrates good understanding of business processes
  • Able to perform effective prioritization with limited resources and drive results with high emphasis on quality
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and relationships with business users
  • Ability to develop and maintain key client relationships
  • Excellent customer service approach and consultative skills
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High levels of proactivity, creativity, curiosity, self-motivation, and thirst for knowledge


Preferences for this role include… 

  • Previous experience in a hospitality software or technology organization.
