Summary:


Responsible for generation of accounting data specifically in billing and collections while applying generally accepted accounting principles.

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Audits, administers, or processes customer invoices, customer payments, vendor invoices, miscellaneous payment requests, and/or other accounting operations data entry.
• Researches, processes, and verifies the accuracy of applicable accounting information.
• Maintains accurate accounting records and compiles reports, as needed.
• Communicates with clients, internal and external customers concerning invoices and payments.
• Performs data entry of accounting information with a high level of accuracy.
• Reconciles accounting information.
• Performs internal and external reporting as required.
• Assists with year-end processes as required.
• Works with Sales and Account Management teams to meet objectives while ensuring that finance guidelines are followed.
• Identifies areas needing improvement and implements processes and procedures to streamline operations and support best practices.
• Tests department computer systems as needed.
• May specialize in a specified subset of more complex transactions requiring advanced technical skills and/or excellent communication skills.
• May create queries and reports using available programming languages that are used to monitor production data and troubleshoot data or system issues.
• May create documentation of processes and procedures to be used by both other team members and users outside of Finance or Accounting.
• Identifies areas needing improvement and implements processes and procedures to streamline operations and support best practices.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

 

Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in general accounting, and accounts payable/receivable experience, specifically in contracts billing or collections
• Associates Degree in Accounting
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Good knowledge of company publications, products, and pricing
• Ability to perform reconciliation on statement of accounts for customers
• Good memory, data entry, number recognition, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, with direction, and on a team (as needed)

 

Preferences:
• Billing experience in a software subscription-based environment

 

Other:
• Work is typically performed in an office environment, using simple, easy muscular movements, involving only the handling of light materials, tools, or equipment in easy work positions, and with no special speed requirements or long stretches of exertion.
• Vision requirements for this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
