IDeaS’ Internship Program provides students with real world experiences working on high visibility projects and challenging assignments.  Our program facilitates opportunities to explore their field of study and make connections.  Interns are a valuable part of our team – they do a lot of important work here, and occasionally have some fun. 

As an R&D Intern on the Research team, you will be working with a mentor from our analytics team on new product development. The analytics team combines members from our research, software development and testing departments in a small, fast, and adaptive team. You will help develop and deliver scientific and pragmatic solutions covering a wide range of revenue science topics including forecasting, pricing and optimization for emerging needs in the rapidly changing world.

Projects are tailored to suit our intern’s individual strengths while providing opportunities for personal development and growth.  Projects typically involve many opportunities for research, data exploration, solution prototyping, software development and testing.

What you’ll be doing...

  • Preparing and analyzing data; identifying opportunities and problems; designing solutions and implementing those solutions
  • Communicating and presenting work to various audiences to explain functionality and/or benefit
  • Producing required technical documentation

What you’ll bring to us…

  • Enrolled in Ph.D. program in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field
  • As part of Ph.D. program, experience conducting research is preferred
  • Interest in revenue science, general forecasting and estimation concepts
  • Excellent ability to identify and proactively solve problems (data modeling)
  • Comfortable with one or more programming languages (Java, Python or SAS)
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
