The Area Manager-Sales is responsible for leading a team of individual Territory Account Executives working in our new business sales team to achieve their respective sales quotas. This role will oversee direct sales to small and medium-sized prospects. As the leader of this team, you will work closely with the Marketing and Demand Generation team to develop go-to-market strategies and market-specific campaigns.

What you’ll be doing...

  • Directly lead a team of sales Territory Account Executives
  • Evaluate, hire, onboard, train and coach Territory Account Executives as needed
  • Supervise and assist in the planning, development, and execution of a sales strategy for Territory Account Executives within a defined territory 
  • Meet and exceed sales targets as defined by sales leadership
  • Support sales leadership in overall sales planning of all IDeaS solutions and consulting services
  • Work with Solution Engineers to ensure sales process alignment and solution design with product capabilities
  • Participate in prospect meetings, presentations, and demonstrations, online and in-person
  • Assist in marketing, sales, and business development planning
  • Collaborate with regional marketing team for demand generation campaigns
  • Work with Territory Account Executives to ensure health and balance of individual sales pipelines
  • Communicate within greater sales team in coordination of sales strategies
  • Forecast sales as needed
  • Track and analyze competitive threats and sales activity to ensure market leadership positioning
  • Assist/attend industry trade shows as required to support brand strengthening and lead generating activities
  • Engage and support a progressive and dynamic corporate culture within IDeaS

What you’ll bring to us…

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Marketing, or applicable area
  • Resides in a major U.S. city with direct airlift to most markets
  • 8+ years of experience in software sales, including four years in a leadership role, supervising individual sales contributors
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully achieving a sales target
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic sales techniques and principles specifically in the software industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the lodging and travel industry
    • Knowledge and experience in revenue management is a plus
    • Knowledge of hotel systems is a plus i.e. PMS, CRS, RMS
    • Knowledge of hotel distribution in a plus
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products and systems
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus
  • Knowledge of sales technology tools such as: SalesLoft, Highspot, Consensus, and Qualified, or similar
  • Ability to travel 40%
